Tip of the Week!

Food: Good, Bad & Ugly.

There are usually three styles of dinner at a Reception. They are the Buffet, the Plated and the “finger foods”. What you choose will usually be driven by your budget.

The Buffet is the popular favorite. You can choose your items and offer a selection at a reasonable price. This is also the fastest way to get through dinner and onto the party!

The Plated Meal is usually more expensive and elegant. Each Guest is served a meal that was previously selected for him or her. Far more labor-intensive and will take twice the time of a Buffet.

Then you can save a bundle with a “light dinner” or “finger foods”. This replaces any formal dinner and allows the party to begin more quickly.

Regardless of your choice, be sure and get references and / or attend a sampling to ensure the quality and appearance of your food. I’ve seen people get ill from the food at a Reception and it’s not a pretty site.

If you wouldn’t eat it, don’t serve it to your Guests!!!

Don’t feel obligated to feed your vendors. Most will appreciate the consideration but it certainly isn’t an expectation
